October 2014 – Thank You!

To everyone who joined us for our Harvest Celebration and Release Day! We had a very successful event with wine, pizzas and pétanque!

Harvest Celebration

We are excited about our upcoming Annual Harvest Celebration and Release Day, scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2014 from noon to 4pm at our vineyard located at 5815 Blank Road, Sebastopol.  If you are interested in attending please contact at us at info@vinaszurinaga.com.

On the same day, we will be releasing our first vintage of 2012 Sonoma Coast estate grown Pinot Noir.

2013 Vintage

Our second vintage has been developing nicely over the last twelve months. It was harvested in the wee hours of the morning of September 10, at a 22.5 brix and 3.6 pH. We are extremely excited about the qualities it’s demonstrating, fragrant, with a clean brightness in the front of the palate, followed by expressive and textured flavors that unfold in the mouth, and an elegant finish provided by balanced tannins. The 100-case production will be bottled on December 18, for release in 2015.

2014 Harvest

We had a very successful harvest on Friday, September 5th. This year we harvested 2.1 tons, which was a significant gain over 2012 and 2013 at 1.5 tons.  The brix level was perfect at 22.6, in keeping with our goal of low alcohol levels.
