Welcome to Viñas Zurinaga! Located in the Sebastopol Hills sub-appellation of Sonoma Coast, our grapes derive their special characteristics from the Goldridge soil they are planted in and a coastal micro- climate of warm days and cool nights that are considered ideal for producing the best possible artisan Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Our Pinot Noir
Wine complexity is provided by the field blend of five clones that comprise the vineyard, each contributing different and nuanced characteristics. Our small vineyard size allows for meticulous farming that yields superior fruit. Utilizing classic Burgundian techniques, the wine is allowed to “become” in French oak barrels for fourteen months, without manipulation. The result is a truly hand crafted wine that we are proud to put our name on.
May 5, 2018, will be the inaugural release of our 2016 Sonoma Coast “7 Rows” Chardonnay.
As with our Pinot, the 7 Rows Chardonnay starts with meticulous farming. The grapes come from the Barlow Homestead Vineyard in northwest Sebastopol, densely planted and farmed organically. There are two selections of clones, Kisler Mt Eden and Hyde-Wente. Our grapes come from seven specially selected rows at the juncture of both clones, ergo the name 7 Rows. Fermented and aged in French Oak, the wine is produced without additives or manipulation.
